You list your product on shopify without actually having the products with you, when a customer buy from you , you buy from your suppliers and your supplier ship the products to your customer on our behalf . and if your customers has any questions you will need to answer it by yourself.

On the other hand , with amazon fba ,
You sent your oem products to amazon warehouse you need to buy these products in advance ,the customer order your products from amazon ,Amazon picks and packs the sold items.Amazon ships your items by method chosen by customer and provides them tracking information.They provide customer service and return management for items.if your customers has any questions regarding refund , products exchange , amazon will take care for you.

So this is the process for both business model in a nutshell.

Dropshipping has a very low cost start up
The investment that you need to folk out is the $29 per month for using shopify platform and also money to advance payment to your supplier to buy products before you cash it out from shopify .

On the other hand , with fba you need some money to buy the products to stock it up on amazon .Apart from this
To store your products in an Amazon fulfillment center, you’ll pay an inventory storage fee.Amazon FBA Fees start at 48 cents per cubic foot and go up to $2.40 per cubic foot during the busier seasons such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

In addition to inventory storage fees, you’ll pay a fee for Amazon to pick, pack, ship, and provide customer service to your buyers. These FBA fees start at $2.41 per unit for small items less than 10 ounces and go up to $137.32 per unit for special, oversized products like deep freezers. Apart from all this , if you want the amazon professional account there will be an extra $39.99 monthly subscription fees .

#2 Earning Potential
Although dropshipping doesn’t need a high start up investment, the returns in terms of revenue is comparatively less. You cannot sell a $10 product for $50.Well , consumer is not dumb.Thanks for the internet , anyone can compare price across all marketplace .You are not the only one who is selling those products.

With Amazon FBA , you get to mark up your price higher than dropshipping , as the products that you are selling is private labeled therefore less competitors.
