Smartphone Quiz - 11th April 2020

Hi Folks,




Thank you again to everyone who has entered, really really appreciate it. Fantastic response again, over 130 teams (from 4 different countries at moment!). 




We have loads of brilliant prizes from Azzurro, Breakwater Giftshop, World Wide Wines Hamper, Macs Outdoor Store, The Haven Hotel, Tom Murphy Car Sales, The Cove, Ian Basten Physio treatment, East Pier, Ardkeen Superstores Hamper, Dunmore East Adventure Centre, a treatment with Aiden Swift Message Therapist and some Club Gear from both Ladies and Mens football Clubs.




We will have prizes for the top 10 teams, a prize for 25th place exactly, 50th place exactly and 100th place exactly as well as a prize for best named team! So there is plenty to play for and keep your interest!




Again a special word of thanks also to John O Connor of Irish Entertainments - been a busy week with plenty quizzes up and down county, John has been a great help in setting this up and working with us to date - Thanks John! 




Contingency
Just a word of warning, the Kahoot! server gave some issues last night, if that is the case again tonight, we might look at re fixing the quiz etc, so we will leave that decision to John, there was no issue last week, so hopefully same again!




Walk Through / Guide;




1. The quiz will be live streamed on YouTube from just before 8pm tonight. It is suggested you stream the quiz from a different device to the one you will be answering through. For example you stream through your TV / Laptop and play via your smartphone App - you need to have the Kahoot! app downloaded onto your phone / tablet etc.




2. This is the link https://youtu.be/Ob2EV48KGdU   - if the link isn't working go to YouTube and search "John O Connor Smartphone Quiz" you will see an option for the live stream on John's Channel. I would strongly suggest you do a trial run on your streaming capability in advance of tonight. 




3. In order to play you will need to be registered on the Kahoot! App - which is free to download from apple / android store. You need to be registered and set up on this app well in advance of tonight. I would strongly suggest downloading it now and familiarising yourself with it well in advance of tonight, there are loads of free quizzes on it to play.




4. Approx 20-30 minutes before the quiz starts tonight, i will send a PIN to enter the private quiz to this email address. This needs to be entered at the bottom of the Kahoot App where it says "Enter Pin" will get you into the Quiz on the Kahoot! App and will be how you will answers the questions. Very simply, questions are asked through YouTube and are answered through Kahoot! - I have included a screen shot of this on the email. 




5. You can google and cheat all you like, more points are given for the fastest correct answers. If you have played before you will know how it works. John will also give a brief run down before the quiz on how scoring / answering etc works. 




6. This is really important, your internet connection / quality is key to this, if you have really bad WiFi / internet, it might be best to use mobile data such as a mobile phone signal etc. Also if you are using a ChromeCast as opposed to Smart-TV there may be lags / delays between questions on YouTube and what is on Kahoot! - this is entirely down to your connection. So please use the best available / reduce traffic on the connection for best performance. Do a trial run of both YouTube and Kahoot! in advance as unfortunately there is no technical support available!




7. Lastly to pay there are two options (A) Pay by Revolut to either of these numbers 0867925564 or 0877987250 or (B) I have sent a PayPal invoice for €10 euro to everyone (if you have already paid ignore this) you can pay this by bank card and do not need a PayPal Ac - If possible please pay as a friend to avoid PayPal charges.
