Software Engineering Project CONTEST - Winter 2020
Description
We're starting 2020 off with a blast: the world's first (okay, maybe not the first) software engineering project contest. Build a cool coding project and compete for awesome prizes, including recommendations to Google, Facebook, and Uber.
*Steps to compete in the contest*
1) Work on a Software Engineering project alone sometime between January 1st 2020 and February 20th 2020. Any team project or project dating back to before 2020 won’t be considered.
2) Upload a YouTube video (at most 60 seconds) showcasing your project. You can record your screen demoing your project; you can describe it verbally; you can do whatever you want to best showcase your project. Any video longer than 60 seconds won’t be considered.
3) Go to algoexpert.io/help, select the “SWE Contest Submission” category, and send us a message with a link to your YouTube video and your project’s GitHub (make sure to give us your email so that we can contact you if you’re a winner). Any submission that doesn’t use the correct category, that doesn’t provide both a YouTube link and a GitHub link, or that doesn’t include a contact email won’t be considered. You'll have until February 20th 2020 at 11:59 PM PST to submit your project.
*Winners and prizes*
There will be 2 winners (both “1st place”). Both winners will win the following 3 prizes:
1) A 45-minute mock coding interview with Clement Mihailescu.
2) 2 30-minute video calls with Clement Mihailescu and Antoine Pourchet (co-founder of AlgoExpert), respectively.
3) Introductions and recommendations to the Google, Facebook, and Uber recruiters that we (Clement and Antoine) know.**
**Disclaimer: this contest isn’t sponsored by Google, Facebook, or Uber. We can’t guarantee any outcome whatsoever from these introductions and recommendations. All that we can guarantee is that we’ll put you in touch with our recruiter contacts and recommend that they consider you for interviews.
*Extra info*
- You can work on whatever you want, so long as it involves coding.
- We’ll be judging projects based on a few criteria, including creativity, technical complexity, and general “coolness.” Please don’t try to over-index on a dimension; just focus on building something that you’re interested in building.
- AlgoExpert is the best coding-interview prep platform
