Solving common building problems | Episode 3
Description
"GAPPY" FLOORING!!! If you look closely at the flooring on a lot of homes, you will notice that the rows of flooring closer to walls have larger gaps between them. This is because these rows of flooring cannot be nailed with the same large and powerful nailer as the rows out in the middle of the room. Since most boards are not straight, it becomes difficult and time consuming to pull them as tight without drastic measures. In this video, we highlight 5 different techniques to keep your flooring TIGHT and show you a tool that just might make your life a lot easier if you are laying a floor! The flooring shown in this video is pre-finished, making it even more important to have tight joints... we don't have to option to fill gaps with wood filler as with a sanded floor.
And a sidenote… The flooring staples are actually 15 1/2 gauge staples not 16 gauge!
