SpringThings: Pileated Woodpecker Encounter!

We are never alone in nature!
I had a magical encounter with this Pileated Woodpecker today!
Funny thing is that I did not have my spotting scope with me on my afternoon hike when I saw this bird. I watched it through my binoculars for about 10 minutes calling and drumming on this tree and then I thought to myself, “hey I'm only about a two minute run to my house from here, maybe he’ll stick around a little longer, and maybe I can get him on film!”
So.... I ran to my house at top speed, got my spotting scope, ran back to the spot and to my amazement he was still there! I attached my phone to the scope and got this video of his performance! Isn't nature groovy?!!
