Surprising my BEST FRIEND of 10 Years with a NEW iPad.

Today, I’m doing something a little different. Today we’re trying to surprise my friend Gerome, with a new iPad. We’ve been friends since I was in 9th grade. Which is, I’m gonna sound like an old man for this. 11 years ago. We’ve kept in touch over this long period of time and we’re pretty close. He’s one of the chillest guys I know, has this infectious deep voice that you just end up mimicking, and he does this thing, “10-year friend-anniversary surprises". So, I decided to do one for him. As a surprise of course. How did I do that? Well, let’s get started with planning a little friend-anniversary surprise.

First, why get him an iPad? There’s plenty of great pieces of tech, and just overall great gifts out there, so why this metal electronic slab? He’s an artist. Scratch that. He really enjoys drawing. I heard a lot of people are starting to switch to an ipad, and Apple Pencil for digital art, and thought. Hey, that’d be pretty cool. AND, if you guys didn’t know from my earlier videos. I really think the base model iPad is a fantastic piece of tech, and one of the best value items that Apple sells. So I just knew this would be great for him to draw or sketch with, watch videos, and help him with some of his university classes as well. But how would I know he’d like this product without straight up asking him “Hey man, would you like an iPad?” That’s where you guys come in. I’ll tell him it’s for a YouTube video. I’ll tell him, I’d like him to draw some design ideas for potential T-shirts on the channel, and would also like his thoughts on the iPad. I hid the ipad in my backpack with all the camera gear. But little does he know, at the end of it. I’m just gonna give him an iPad, if he likes it of course. It would be kind of embarrassing if he didn't, and I brought it. So this is like a 3in-1 shampoo, designing merch, get an amateur artist’s opinion on an iPad, and surprising him with an iPad. Let’s get to it.

So, it looks like he really liked it. And as you can tell, that was recorded before I filmed this talking head shot. Because my hair was soo much longer. I wanted to give him some time with it and get his thoughts on it. He’s never owned an apple product either. So as someone being thrust with this brand new item, it’ll be really exciting to see what he thinks. So, I’m going to jump on a quick video call with him, and see what he thinks.

At the end of the day, what mattered is it made the guy happy and that’s really all I could ask for out of this. He’s been a great friend to me over the years, and he definitely deserves it. And I’m not just saying this because he watches my videos.
