Teen now facing charges in adult court for Avondale murder

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A local ninth-grade student now faces charges as an adult for a double shooting in Avondale that left another teenager dead. A grand jury has charged Donte Thompkins with murder and four counts of felonious assault.
Police say Thompkins shot and killed Kesean Banks outside the Crescent Apartment building off of Reading Road on Sept. 8. A second person who was shot and taken to the hospital. That person survived.
Thompkins case has been in juvenile court since his arrest the day after the shooting. Thompkins has been in juvenile detention.
He was a student at Shroder High School.
