This video explains the viral TikTok trend of popping open balloons to reveal "frozen" water. Those videos are not fake, however they're harder to get right than they look. If you tried replicating it and failed then just follow the tutorial below! Getting the perfect laminar flow depends on the size of your balloon and the speed at which water comes out. Smaller balloons need fairly small holes which slows down the water flow so you actually have time to film it.

LAMINAR FLOW BALLOONS
1) Fill regular balloons with water while supporting the base
2) Tape a hashtag shape making sure the central square is very small (5-10mm)
3) Place balloon in a bowl aimed at the sink or in the garden
4) Use a pin or needle to pop a hole
5) Have your phone ready to film and focus on the first part of the stream
6) If done correctly, a normal balloon like the one I used in the video should produce a good laminar effect for 1-2mins
7) If the water flows out faster than that, then try again or use larger balloons
