Description

It's been nearly two weeks, since my last video. I am aware of that, sorry. I've been preparing things in Pokémon Shield Version (as well as getting through the story--I've also admittedly procrastinated on the postgame chapter). Don't worry, I am still alive, so here is another skin from Tetris 99, simply named "Elegant." Honestly, I didn't know what this was going to be about, and looking at it now, the theme of a fancy tea party is an...unexpected one, that's for sure.

The background has a pale yellow and lavender wallpaper-looking pattern with doilies slowly rolling by, and the playfield itself has a light tan checkerboard tabletop pattern. The background sometimes changes to various gradients though. Incoming attacks sound like cups and plates smashing. Badges are a fork-and-knife set (because you can't drink tea without them). Eliminated players come up as teacups except for ones you've KOed yourself, who come up as teapots. Considering some other skins have a death theme for those icons, like gravestones in Legend of Zelda and coffins in Scary Castle, does that mean defeated players turn into teacups and teapots? Is it like Sinistea and Polteageist? Or is it more like Chip and Mrs. Potts?

The music is fitting. I don't know how, but it works.

Match #1
Skin: Elegant
Mode: Normal
For this match you see me doing something unusual. You see, there is an icon you can unlock by placing in the top 10 three times without using the Hold Piece box, without doing any T-Spins, and without doing any Tetris line clears. This was very tough, because these conditions leave you at the mercy of whatever garbage blocks are sent your way. You're removed of your means of fighting back against them. This was the match where I pulled it off the third time, however, andf I got an icon of...a red hand doing a "stop" gesture. It reminds me of the emblem on Jotaro Kujo's hat, which, considering the subtle but vast influence JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has had on Japanese culture, wouldn't surprise me if this was its actual inspiration.

Match #2
Skin: Elegant
Mode: Invictus
No need to limit myself like that on Invictus though...or anymore for that matter, now that I got that icon. Honestly, afterbeing at the hand icon unlock restrictions for so long, I had to readjust myself back to how I'd normally play Tetris. I don't do a lot of T-Spins, but I do use the Hold box a lot, and I will do Tetrises if I need to clear down space or that's otherwise the best play available to me that I can think of.

Match #3
Skin: Elegant
Mode: Invictus
I'm looking at some of these people in this room, who are destroying opponents left and right and getting their fourth badges after only a short while even in Invictus. We all know what Invictus is really for, which is to get players who would win too many regular matches out of the way so that more people can have a chance, not unlike Super Mario Maker's and Super Mario Maker 2's Super Expert difficulty's purpose being to filter out all of the stupid unfair courses. Apparently now, we need an Invictus Invictus for these guys for whom regular Invictus is still too easy for them.
