Tezpur University was established by an Act of Parliament in 1994. The objects of this Central University as envisaged in the statutes are that it shall strive to offer employment oriented and interdisciplinary courses to meet the local and regional aspirations and the development needs of the state of Assam and also offer courses and promote research in areas which are of special and direct relevance to the region and in emerging areas in Science and TechnologyAdmission based on University Entrance Examinations:

(ii) 5-year Integrated dual B.Sc. ( Major) & M. Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Life
Science, (iii) 5- year Integrated dual B.A.(Major) & M. A. in English, (iv) 5- year Integrated
dual B.Com. (Hons.) & M.Com. (v) MCA (vi) Master in Law (LL.M) (vii) M. A. in
English / Linguistics & Language Technology / Cultural Studies / Sociology / Mass
Communication and Journalism / Communication for Development / Hindi /Social Work /

Category B: Admission based on All India Ranking (CRL) of JEE (Main)
Programmes: B.Tech. in (i) Mechanical Engineering, (ii) Civil Engineering, (iii) Electronics
and Communication Engineering, (iv) Electrical Engineering (v) Computer Science &
Engineering, (vi) Food Engineering & Technology. Candidates will be selected for admission
on the basis of All India Rank (CRL) of the JEE (Main) conducted by the NTA (for details
please visit JEE website: www.jeemain.nic.in). Sixty percent of the total seats will be filled
up by the candidates of NE states. Candidates of NE states may apply against the seats
reserved for the North East (NE) states for which the candidates will be required to produce
Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) issued by the Competent Authority of any NE state.
Counseling and admission of the short listed candidates will be held at Tezpur University.
Admission to the remaining seats will be made through the Central Counseling conducted by
the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). For admission through Central Counseling the
candidates are not required to submit the Tezpur University application form.
