Dragon Age Inquisition is not easy on Nightmare, especially at the very beginning. This guide is here to help you how to survive or deal considerable damage early on.
ARCHER rogue from level 1 to 10:
Archery is one of the best way to start the game on Nightmare without too much difficulty. Stay in range and let your tanks handle the crowds, while you cower their back. Needless to say, you mainly focus on damage and you need to try your best to stay out of sight!
Level 1: Longshot-Eagle Eye.
Level 2: First Blood.
Level 3,4: Explosive Shot-Chain Reaction.
Level 5,6: Poisoned Weapons-Infected Wounds.
Level 7: Death From Above.
Level 8,9: Leaping Shot-Shot From the Shadows.
Level 10: Stealth
DUAL DAGGER rogue from level 1 to 10:
Rogues are very vulnerable at the beginning, so you you have to make sure that the enemies are focusing on your party, instead of you. You target the back, strike from the shadows and quickly retreat into it as soon as you finished your attack.
Level 1,2: Stealth-Clinging Shadows.
Level 3,4: Flank Attack-Skirmisher.
Level 5,6: Poisoned Weapons-Leeching Poison.
Level 7,8: Twin Fangs-Ripping Fangs.
Level 9: Easy to Miis.
Level 10: Knockout Powder.
WEAPONS AND SHIELD warrior from level 1 to 10:
Since on nightmare enemies hit hard and they are gonna be their primary target, your Weapon and Shield warriors need to be able to soak up a lot of damage. You need to set up their abilities accordingly.

Level 4: Crippling Blows.
Level 5: Block and Slash.
Level 6: Flow of Battle.
Level 7,8: Pommel Strike-Lightning Jab.
Level 9: Guard Smasher
Level 10: Coup de Grace.
