Description

Dividend stock investing is not easy, but it's so worth it! Today's video goes into the 2020 stock market crash and how the volatility has, in some respects, made things more challenging than expected for dividend investors. Today's video also shares how I'm personally learning and overcoming these investing challenges.
I'm also thrilled to share a #dividend #stock #portfolio update. Since last July, I'm now only down 3% (including new capital added), and my stream of dividend income is up a staggering 11%. Long story short: Premium quality dividend stocks are weathering the 2020 storm quite well. During these unprecedented times, my heart goes out to everyone and I pray for your health.

You can see the individual stocks in my dividend stock portfolio here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx6pMUZZb9U
I'll be updating the individual stock spreadsheet sometime soon.

0:00 Introduction
4:48 TOPIC 1: MY DIVIDEND STOCK PORTFOLIO UPDATE
5:31 In dollar terms, my stock portfolio is holding up incredibly well (I'm only down 3% since last July).
7:49 My cash flow from dividends is up 11% since last July. The dividend stock investing strategy is working in these unprecedented times.
8:25 During the market crash, I bought stocks aggressively and increased my dividend cash flow by 1% (just in a matter of weeks).
9:53 Takeaway: I don't like dividend stocks that take the government bailout because it suspends their right to pay dividends (temporarily).
10:11 So far, none of my companies have cut nor suspended the dividend, although I am prepared for a small number to do so.
10:29 Takeaway: Premium dividend stocks all the way!
12:48 In my opinion, government stimulus has caused the stock market to decouple from the actual economic results.
16:23 Takeaway: I'm waiting right now for lower stock prices before I allocate too much more capital.
17:30 Takeaway: I learned that I literally had days (not weeks) to buy value.
18:44 TOPIC 2: MY DIVIDEND STOCK PURCHASES THIS LAST WEEK
19:07 Takeaway: Analyst EPS estimates for 2020 are tanking!
22:02 I bought more MMM and I feel that it's one of the best values out of all the dividend stocks I own, right now.
22:17 In my opinion, 3M is past their drama with President Trump. They are on President Trump's good side now.
26:37 TOPIC 3: MY RIDE OR DIE DIVIDEND STOCK LIST
27:17 Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) is only down 8.6% from the high! This is not a cheap stock market.
32:14 Takeaway: Sometimes it's not all about the data, sometimes there is an emotional side to dividend investing.
