The safest places to live if World War III breaks out
Description
Well, if social media is anything to go by, World War III might be on the way following the killing of a top Iranian general. Qasem Soleimani was killed by a US air strike on Thursday, causing Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei pledging revenge to Donald Trump's " crime ". It led to 'World War 3' starting to trend on Twitter and Google almost immediately after the bombing at Baghdad airport, according to The Mirror . No-one were more worried than Americans judging by the 500,000 searches for 'Iran' since the news broke. But they're not the only ones to be concerned, with millions of people worried a full-scale conflict could be sparked because of the assassination. Donald Trump said after the strike: “What the United States did yesterday should have been done long ago. A lot of lives would have been saved. “Just recently, Soleimani led the brutal repression of protesters in Iran, where more than 1,000 innocent civilians were tortured and killed by their own government. “We took action last night to stop a war. We did not take action to start a war.” The Daily Star has put together a list of the safest places to hide if war breaks out as suggested by the Global Peace Index, a ranking of the safest countries in the world.
