why Unbox Therapy is the Tech Pewdiepie.

This is unbox therapy. and he is the largest tech YouTuber on Earth and it's not even close. After almost 10 years of making videos Lew has had his viral moments BUT what's actually impressive isn't that he climbed his way to the top but it's that after all these years he's managed to hold on to that crown. And Today we’re going to look at how he did it.

Now to make a VERY long story short , the channel blew up because of what is probably still the most popular tech-related video ever: THe iphone 6 bend test. And when I say this went VIRAL I mean it went VIRAL. Sitting at just over 72Million views this video was a defining moment in Lew’s career and it would serve as the foundation for how he built his channel.

If you were to go on the UnboxTherapy channel right now you will notice a few things:
-One of which is that , Lew has a very definitive style of thumbnail and title. He keeps it simple and to the point. But his thumbnails also say something else : he is as much the star of the video as the product he’s showcasing. If we Take a look at MKBHD’s channel,the second largest tech channel for instance, what you’ll notice is that the products are always at center stage and Marques himself is hardly in his own thumbnail because he wants the products to be the star of the show , not him.

This practice is one of the essential contributing factors to Lew’s success on the platform. It allows him to be less reliant on the tech products to make videos. For instance , just recently he made a 20 minute video called “dear Apple '' where the main focus is solely on him and a story he’s telling. , it switches up the format of his channel from being just about reviewing a product to something like a TV show.
On top of that, Lew is an energetic and charismatic host, when he’s excited about something, he shares that energy with the audience and it makes the videos feel more human because it’s less about Lew reading off a spec sheet and more about how the thing makes him feel.

Lew’s set also adds to this: being just a white or gray void with him close and center means that once again the focus is on HIM. The product may be the reason you click on the video but Lew is the reason you stay and subscribe.

However, clickbait and charisma can only take you so far. What really keeps Unbox Therapy on top is evolution and experimentation. After a while of doing the same thing over and over again , people get bored and watch something else. Lew Understands this which is why he is always trying to keep the channel fresh. He’s not afraid to try new things , whether it's talk shows, podcasts or a different shooting style Lew always makes an effort to push UnboxTherapy forward without alienating his original audience. This manages to give unbox therapy the ability to maintain its lead.


But Lew was only able to do that after years of establishing a solid foundation for what he wanted the channel to be at its core: his show. As long as the only thing that doesn’t change is Lew being in front of the camera , then Unbox Therapy is free to innovate and adapt over time and keep its crown as the number 1 tech channel for many more years to come.
