There Are Two Kinds of Faith
Description
Do you remember the moment you became a Christian? How did you feel in that moment? You received faith to receive Jesus into your heart, and that is a saving faith-a gift from God.
But the faith doesn’t stop there. We need what I like to call “operational faith” to continue in our Christian walk.
Operational definition: fully functional, up and running, in action, ready for action.
This faith is incredibly exciting! It means you know and trust God to always be with you, no matter what you’re going through or what you have to do. Whatever you’re called to do, in that discomfort or possible danger, God is WITH you. Even in the mundane things of every day life God wants to meet you there and cause you to have purpose each day. We must operate in faith to keep the connection of our fellowship with Jesus strong (abide in Christ, meaning abiding in the Word; the Word builds up your faith because faith comes from hearing the word of God- see the connections??).
Since I’ve found how important operational faith is in my daily grind, I can’t live without it. I need to be trusting God in every area of my life! I feel dry and disappointed if I let my fellowship slide.
I’ve learned the key word for myself is balance. Jesus must be at the very top of our balance walk. More on that later.
Let’s grow in faith!!
As an aside on the Romans 10 text, Paul is referring to Israel, yet we can take these verses and apply them to ourselves. I was applying these verses to my soul and body since I am already saved. If this doesn't make sense to you, please send me a message - [email protected]
always,
Kirsten
