In this video we shall be taking you all around the continent of Africa and we shall be shinning the light on the African countries with the tallest people . The debate on the height of people around the world has been of relative importance for some reason. Given the recent emergence of many organizations taking the demographic statistics of each country, we are now more than ever anxious to compare the statistics of one country to that of another. An Organization for Economic and Co-operation and Development (OECD) report, Global Well-being since 1820, notes that from the 1870s until the 1940s, sub-Saharan Africans were two centimeters taller than the world average. The rest of the world caught up in the 1960s, however, and now sub-Saharan Africans are 1.4cm below the global mean.

The statistics are the average heights of the countries calculated by Averageheight.com and the World Health Organization. Currently European countries have a majority of the tallest people in the world with Netherland topping the charts . So, without any further ado, here are the top 10 African countries with the tallest People.


10. Cameroon and Ghana - Average Height-1.70cm
Starting off this list are two Countries from west and central Africa. Cameroon is a country in Central Africa bordered by Nigeria, Chad , Central African Republic and Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon is home to over 250 native languages spoken by nearly 25 million people but the official languages of the country are English and French. The country is often referred to as "Africa in miniature" for its geological and cultural diversity. The only diversity in Cameroon is not with nature but also with its people. The variation between the heights of men to women is also very evident. Men have an average height of 1.70cm while women have 161.3cm. Ghana located in west Africa also has 1.70cm as the avaeage height of its men and 1.62cm as the avarge height of its women. With a population of over 30 million people, Ghana has one of the largest economies in Africa but when it comes to height they take 10th place.

9. Mauritania - Average Height- 1.71cm
Mauritania is one of the lesser known countries in Africa, Despite the fact that this country is not very much talkd about doesn’t mean it’s the worst country in Africa. officially the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, is a country in Northwest Africa. It is the eleventh largest sovereign state in Africa and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean,Western Sahara, Algeria and Mali. The country has a population of about 4.5 million people and is the most Islamic country in the world with almost a 100% of its population comprising of muslims. The citizens of the country are quite tall with an average male measuring 1.71 cm and an average female measuring 1.64cm making the country take the 9th Position in Africa with it comes to height.
8. morocco. Average Height-1.72cm
At the 8th position on this count down is the most visited and most colorful country in African, Morocco. Officially the Kingdom of Morocco, it is a country located in the Maghreb region of North Africa with its capital at Rabat and the largest city Casablanca. Morocco spans an area of 710,850 km2 and has a population of over 36 million. Morocco’s predominant religion is Islam, and its official languages are Arabic and Berber, the latter achieving official recognition in 2011. The Average Moroccan male have a height of about 1.72cm while the average female in morocco has a of 1.60 making Morocco the 8th country in Africa with the tallest people.

7. kenya - Average Height-1.72.5cm
Kenya officially the Republic of Kenya is a country in East Africa with 47 semiautonomous counties governed by elected governors. At 580,367km2, Kenya is the world's 48th largest country by total area and a population of about 52.1 million people, Kenya is the 29th most populous country in the world. it is also one of the most beautiful as well as one of th most visited in East Africa. Of the total population of 52.1 million people, 26.02million are men hence men account for 49.9% while women make up a majority of population. An average male Kenyan has an average height of 1.72cm while an average Kenyan female measures 1.62 cm and this height ranks Kenya at 8th position.

Algeria is one of the most beautiful and visited countries in Africa. Located in the Magreb region of Africa it has a population of about 43 million people.
