The year 2019 witnessed the One-Day International (ODI) World Cup which was in the middle of the year in England and Wales. After that, the World Test Championship (WTC) started.

T20 cricket, meanwhile, lost its touch as the major teams were busy in ODI WC and WTC. However, associate teams did play a lot of T20 matches, and batsmen from different teams showcased their talent.


The Netherlands played the maximum number of T20Is (25) in 2019. Ireland played 23 while Nepal and Papua New Guinea (PNG) played 19 and 17 games, respectively.

When it comes to significant teams, then India played the maximum (16) T20Is.


Since major teams didn’t play enough number of T20Is, so it’s expected that the popular names in cricket world were unsuccessful in making their impact visible. Cricketers from Associate teams took full advantage of the given opportunity and they, therefore, rocked the charts by scoring maximum runs.

Paul Stirling, the power-striker from Ireland, scored most runs in 2019. In 20 matches, Paul amassed 748 runs with an average of 41.55. His compatriot Kevin O’Brien scored 729 runs in 23 games.
