10 ADDIS ABABA UNIVERSITY- ETHIOPIA.
Starting this list is the Addis Ababa University or AAU which was founded on March 30 1950 by Lucien Matte. The Addis Ababa University is a large and highly residential national university in Ethiopia. The is the oldest school of higher education in this country, it has 13 campuses, twelve of which are situated in Addis Ababa and one is located in BISHOFTU about 45 kilometers away. This university is associated with several research institutions including the institute of Ethiopians studies. Established in 1948 as university college Ibadan and later became an independent university in 1963. It is the oldest degree awarding institution in Nigeria.
