Joker has always been one of the most iconic villains. While many think to love the Joker is to basically glorify anarchy and chaos, it’s more than likely that what we really all love about him is his relationship to Batman and the Joker acts as Bruce's perfect foil and dark mirrored-reflection. For better or worse as Batman himself and the world of Gotham have become ever darker over the years, often aiming to shock and engage fans in order to sell comics but also to probe ever deeper into a greater more raw understanding of what really drives both the Batman and Joker as characters, we’ve also seen darker versions of the Joker emerge. And today we’re going to be exploring some of these darker iterations, what makes them tick and where they came from.
