    Melanie Perkins changed the very future of designing when she launched Canva in 2007. It was originally intended to help high schoolers design yearbooks. But today, Canva is used by professionals and amateurs alike.

    2. Claire Wasserman, Founder of Ladies Get Paid
    Claire Wasserman had left her high-paying job, because she was on a mission. She wanted to improve the gender parity in salaries in the professional world. Launched in 2016, Ladies Get Paid is aimed at “helping women advocate for themselves so they get recognized and rewarded”.

    3. PayalKadakia, Founder of ClassPass
    PayalKadakia had been passionate about dancing and pursuing it since the age of 3. As her idea grew, she realised she wanted to take the boredom and monotony out of working out.

    4. Audrey Gelman, Founder of The Wing
    Audrey Gelman founded The Wing in 2016, revolutionising the field of co-working spaces forever. A feminist co-working space collective and club, it offers a collaborative space for women to work, socialise, and learn.

    5. Reshma Shetty, Co-Founder of Ginkgo Bioworks
    Holding a Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from MIT, Reshma Shetty’s mission was to make biology easier to engineer. Hence, she co-founded Ginkgo Bioworks in 2008.

    6. Shelly Bell, Founder of Black Girl Ventures
    Shelly Bell is a computer scientist, former high school teacher, performance poet, community organiser, and a founder and CEO. She launched Black Girl Ventures in 2016, to help women of colour create and run successful businesses.

    7. Neha Narkhede, Co-Founder of Confluent
    Today one of the richest self-made women in America, Neha Narkhede co-founded Confluent in 2014. It builds Apache Kafka tools for companies, an open-source software platform invented by her while working at LinkedIn.

    8. Trish Costello, Founder of Portfolia
    Portfolia was started in 2014 by Trish Costello, to revolutionise access to funding for women entrepreneurs.

    9. Emily Kennedy, Founder of Marinus Analytics
    Emily Kennedy had founded Marinus Analytics in 2014, to help law enforcement combat human trafficking.

    10. Erin Loos Cutraro, Founder of She Should Run
    Women’s participation in politics still needs to improve significantly, and the path is wrought with challenges. This is why Erin Loos Cutraro founded She Should Run in 2011.
