Pirates of the Caribbean: $4.52 billion
“Curse of the Black Pearl” is the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie to be released. The theme park attraction's popular film franchise has generated over $4.52 billion worldwide.

The bulk of ticket sales for the film series have come from international moviegoers. $3 billion of its total haul is outside of the U.S. and Canada.

Transformers— $4.86 billion

Transformers has thrived as a franchise at Paramount due to Hasbro's popular toy line.

The movie studio has produced six films in the sci-fi film series, earning $4.86 billion globally. The sales total in 1986 was $5.8 million for the animated feature film based on the toy line.

Similarly, the Transformers film series has done exceptionally well in international ticket sales. The U.S. and Canada's box office generated $3.28 billion of the total gross.

Batman: $4.9 billion
The Batman franchise has grossed over $4.9 billion through ten live-action films and one animated feature.


Jurassic Park: $4.99 billion
When only five movies were released, the Jurassic Park franchise has earned $4.99 billion globally. The sequel's release date is 2022.

DC Extended Universe: $5.6 billion
The DC Extended Universe was announced in 2013 with the release of “Man of Steel,” the DCEU's first instalment.

Studio films since 2009 have totaled $5.6 billion in worldwide ticket sales. This box office data excludes “Joker,” as Todd Phillips claims that it isn't connected to Warner Bros.' other DC films.

Middle Earth— $5.86 billion

The Fast and the Furious: $5.9 billion
The Fast and the Furious franchise has made nearly $6 billion worldwide with nine movies and another coming in 2021. NBCUniversal distributes the films.
The diverse cast and filming locations make the film series particularly successful abroad. $4.2 billion of its global haul comes from foreign markets.

X-Men, $6.03 billion
Starting in 2000, 13 X-Men-based films were released by 20th Century Fox. These films have collected $6 billion in global ticket sales.

This will be different once a third Deadpool film appears under the Disney banner. Disney bought Fox's entertainment assets in 2019 for $71 billion, with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four being added to the MCU.

Since 2002, actor/comic Spider-Man has starred in seven live-action films and one animated feature. Those movies have grossed $6.3 billion around the world.

Bond's worth: $6.89 billion
James Bond is the longest-running film franchise in cinematic history. Since 1963, 24 James Bond films have been made. The films have collected $6.89 billion globally.


The Wizarding World— $9.18 billion
Following Harry Potter's first on-screen appearance in 2001, the franchise has only grown.

The aggregate box office of these 10 films is $9.18 billion. In the next few years, fans can expect three more Fantastic Beasts films.

Star Wars: $10.2 billion

"Star Wars" captivated a generation in 1977. The franchise is still thriving, now 40 years later.

In total, nine films from the Skywalker Saga, two standalone spin-off films, and one animated feature have been released theatrically. This film series has sold over $10.2 billion in tickets globally.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe— $22.59 billion

In just 12 years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has released 23 movies. More movies are in the works, too.

The MCU has grossed over $22.5 billion globally since 2008. Endgame is one of the highest-grossing films of all time.
