TOP 10 LARGEST DOGS IN THE
WORLD

If you’re not a dog person, all big dogs might look terrifying to you and that’s okay. But if you are a dog
person, which would make sense considering you’re here, you would agree that these beauties come in
all temperaments, shapes, and sizes and that is precisely the fun of it all.
In this video, we are coming at you with the ten largest dogs in the world. Prepare to see some of the
biggest good boys and girls you’ll ever see. Make sure to stick to learn about this particular breed that
used to be gladiator dogs thousands of years ago.
#10 FRENCH MASTIFF

The French Mastiff dog, also called the Dogue de Bordeaux is a breed of dog which is peculiarly
characterized by their huge head and muscular body. An adult French Mastiff can grow as large as
between 20-23 inches in height and can get as heavy as 137 pounds.
French Mastiffs usually have very tough skin and the wrinkles on their faces and necks usually make
them look like dried up old prunes. Although if we're being honest, many dogs look like dried up old
prunes but we love them either way.
The massive head is the most intriguing part of this breed. They have small eyes, a broad nose, and short
drooping ears. French Mastiffs can make the best rescue dogs and watchdogs with the right training.
With consistent training and socialization, these adorable fur babies make the best companions for
families with kids.

#9 GREAT PYRENEES

Great Pyrenees are known for their stunning beauty and their protective nature. Although these huge
dogs are very gentle, obedient and loyal, they have been used as watchdogs for thousands of years to
protect livestock. They can have an average height of 30-39 inches and weigh between 114 - 130
pounds.

They have very wide chests and an odd-shaped head that looks like a wedge. The attractive V shaped
ears of this breed often hang downwards. They also have long plumed tails and almond-shaped eyes.
Very cute.
These dogs are very hardy which means that they have weather resistant double coats and mostly
suitable for harsh weather conditions.
Their undercoat is dense and woolly while their upper coat is thick and long. The color of the coat may
sometimes be white and sometimes, varying shades of grey.
The masters have to train the Great Pyrenees dogs from a very young age. Without proper training, this
breed can become very aggressive and like I said, they are very protective watchdogs. They may be cute
but they can't be kept as indoor pets. They need their space.
#8 ANATOLIAN SHEPHERD DOG
The Anatolian Shepherd is a massive and strong breed of dogs that are typically found in Turkey. They
were originally developed and bred to protect livestock. This large breed can sometimes grow to be as
heavy as 150 pounds and as tall as 26 - 31 inches. The Anatolian Shepherd dogs are known for their
agility and endurance.
These dogs have big and round shaped heads. The color of their medium-sized eyes ranges from brown
to light amber. Their neck is thick and powerful; a common characteristic for guard dogs. The triangular
shaped ears of Anatolian dogs can be 4-6 inches in length and droop down the sides of their faces.
Anatolian Shepherd dogs are very kind, intelligent, faithful and protective. They are very suspicious of
strangers and tend to bark a lot when they feel threatened. This breed loves to play with children but I
wouldn't advise that, these dogs are much too big and powerful to take the chances with children.
#7 NEWFOUNDLAND
Now this is a big dog! Clocking in at 132-154 pounds and 27 - 30 inches in height, the Newfoundland dog
breed is indeed a large breed. They have very strong bones and can be the cause of several injuries
should they get aggressive.
The Newfoundlands have very wide and huge heads with strong thick necks. They also have very deep
chests and long thighs. Imagine their speed or the kind of power kick they can give.

Their coat mainly comes in black color and requires regular and proper grooming to keep the good
condition. They are very sociable and smart while also being extremely sensitive to their master's voice;
which means it's pretty easy to train these guys. As a dog owner, there's literally nothing more
heartwarming than your doggo recognizing your voice for the first time.
The Newfoundland dogs hardly ever bark unnecessarily although they are very protective and loyal to
their family or masters. Newfoundland dogs are suited well for children as they are very calm and
friendly, and can detect threats with lightning speed. Still, adult supervision is important because these
are some really big
#6 LEONBERGER
Here's an interesting fact about these Leonbergers; they were named after the Leonberg city in
Germany.
