School is a universally accepted knowledge center. We go there to learn new things and get prepared for various professions. Because of this, going to school is only natural. As soon as you come of age, you’ll be sent off to figure out the mysteries of the planet.

But as it turns out, some of the mysteries you thought you had figured are lies. Yes, your teachers lied to you albeit unintentionally. In today's video, we'll look at the top 10 of these lies. #10 Abraham Lincoln was opposed to slavery
There is no doubt that Abraham Lincoln is among the most prominent figures in the history of the world, all thanks to his achievements. He was a self-educated lawyer (imagine that) and of course, the president of one of the most powerful countries in the world.
As the 16th US president, he saw the country through the infamous American Civil War – a war that was a trial for the United States on so many levels. Aside from that, Lincoln revamped the US economy, made sure the Union kept going and abolished slavery.
And it’s that last achievement that has given birth to a very popular and false notion – Abraham Lincoln was against slavery. Well, he’s known to have acknowledged that slavery was wrong from a moral standpoint but he admitted to not knowing what to do about it before the civil war – how about just abolishing it, Lincoln.
On top of this, though he was of the idea that all men (that is both blacks and whites) are equal, he just didn’t fancy seeing the two races having the same political and social rights. He brought this out in a September 18, 1858, speech after being called out by his opponents for allegedly supporting equality.
That said, the Emancipation Proclamation and the Thirteenth Amendment both of which were signed by Abraham Lincoln were pivotal in elevating the position of Black Americans at that time.
#9 Different regions of the tongue can only pick out specific tastes
It’s a known fact that we have a total of five senses, and each sense is felt through a specific body part. Taste, for instance, is a reserve of the tongue.
Through this body part, we can tell bitter, sweet, sour, salty and umami substances. That's fine up to that point. But, for a larger part, we’ve been led to believe that each one of these tastes is felt by a specific region of the tongue. You know, like the back picks out bitter tastes, the front is for sweetness while the sides are specifically for salty and sour. We bet you remember that diagram of a partitioned tongue.
