Welcome to Displore and thanks for watching, In this video, we shall be taking you into the world of African Football and we shall be taking a look at the Top 10 Most successful African soccer teams of all time. Football is probably the most popular sport in every African country, although rugby and cricket are also very popular in South Africa. Football was first introduced to Africa in the late 19th century by Europeans. The game was first played in the continent in 1862; historian Peter Alegi said that it "spread very quickly through the mission schools, through the military forces and through the railways." Teams were being established in South Africa before 1900, Egypt and in Algeria during a similar time period. Initially not every African country had a national Football team, but as time went on more and more nation started having interest in Football. Almost every single Africa Country now has a football team but those teams are not the same in strength, awards and records.

In this Video we shall be ranking the team based on several factors such as Trophies Won, Performance at World Cup and consistency. With that said, here are the Top 10 successful National football teams in Africa of all time.


10. South Africa National Football team
The South Africa national football team represents South Africa in association football and is controlled by the South African Football Association, the governing body for football in South Africa. They played their first match in 1924, they returned to the world stage in 1992, after 16 years of being banned from FIFA, and 40 years of effective suspension due to the apartheid system. Since their return they have been inconsistent with their performances. South Africa have participated 10 Times at the African Cup of Nations and has won 1 time. Still at the Afcon , they have played a total of 42 games and have won 16.they were the runners up at the 1998 edition and third place at the 2000 edition. South Africa took fouth Place at the Fifa condiferation cup, 1996 Fifa best Mover of the year, Winner of the 1997 Afro- Asia cup o Nations, and has also won several international friendly matches. South Africa's home ground is FNB Stadium, so named due to a naming rights deal, in Johannesburg.
9. DR Congo National Football team
The Democratic Republic of the Congo national football team, recognised by FIFA as Congo DR (formerly known as Zaire, alternatively known as Congo-Kinshasa), is the national team of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is controlled by the Congolese Association Football Federation. They are nicknamed the Leopards. The Congolese Association Football Federation was founded in 1919 when the country was not independent. The team played their first game in 1948 as Belgian Congo against Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia. The team recorded a 3–2 victory at home. DR Congo has been FIFA affiliated since 1962 and has been a member of CAF since 1963. The DRC has participated at the Afcon 19 times and have played a total of 73 games and have won a Total of 20 games. With Regards to records, The DRC football team has won the African cup of Nation two times, They Took third place a 1998 and 2015 Edition and fouth place at the 1972 Edition. They have won the African Nations Championship two times in 2009 and 2016. The team is currently the 9th Most Sucessful National Football team in Africa.
8. Morocco National Football Team
The Morocco national football team, nicknamed "Atlas Lions", represents Morocco in men's association football and It is governed by the Fédération Royale Marocaine de football , the governing body for football in Morocco. The selection of Morocco was created in 1928 and played its first game on 22 December of that year against the B team of France, from which it was defeated by 2–1. This team, formed by the best footballers of the LMFA or the Moroccan Football League (settlers or natives), was active in friendly matches against other North African selections such as those of the Football League of Algeria, the Football League of Oran, the Football League of Costantinia and the Tunisia Football League. In 1955, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation was established, at the end of the French protectorate of Morocco, which had lasted since 1912. Morocco has participated at the Africa Cup of nations 17 times and has won 1 time at the 1976 Edition. They took third place at the 1980 Edition of the Afcon and fouth place both at the 1986 and 1988 edition. Morocco Also won the 2018 Edition of the Africa Nation Championship. Though Morocco has never won the world cup they have participated at the Tournament five times
