Do you know which of the United States is the most toxic? Air and water pollution are two of the biggest problems the United States has. In the last 50 years we have made great strides but, believe it or not, we have a ways to go.
Today we are looking at states with two of the most toxic key elements for life. Air and water. The EPA ranks all 50 states by their air and water quality every year.

For air quality, the EPA measured the average number of days in 2020 in which the Air Quality Index was above what the Environmental Protection Agency deems a "healthy" threshold.
For water, the EPA measures the number of violation points against public water systems per 1,000 residents served in each state in 2020.
Some of the states on this list might surprise you.
