The district was situated between 78º 30′ and 79º 55E, of the eastern longitudes and 12º 37′ and 14ºN, of northern latitudes. It is bounded on the north by Anantapur and Cuddapah districts, on the east by Nellore and Chengai-Anna districts of Tamilnadu, on the south by North Arcot Ambedkar & Dharmapuri district of Tamilnadu and on the west by Kolar District of Karnataka state. The district has population of 41,70,468 as per the 2011 census which accounts for 4.92% of the total population of the State with 11.33% decadal growth.
1.Venkateswara Temple
Venkateswara Temple is a landmark Vaishnavite temple situated in the hill town of Tirumala at Tirupati in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The Temple is dedicated to Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared here to save mankind from trials and troubles of Kali Yuga. Hence the place has also got the name Kaliyuga Vaikuntham and the Lord here is referred to as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam. The temple is also known by other names like Tirumala Temple, Tirupati Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple. Venkateswara is known by many other names: Balaji, Govinda, and Srinivasa.
2.Horsley Hills
Horsley Hills or Horsleykonda or Yenugulla Mallamma Konda is a series of hills in Andhra Pradesh in Madanapalle Taluk of Chittoor district and is about 9 miles from Madanapalle town. The local name of the hill was Yenugu Mallama Konda after a legend of a saintly old woman named Mallamma who lived atop the hill and was fed by elephants (yenugulu). W.D. Horsley, a British collector, built his home around 1870 after whom it is named.
3.Kapila Theertham
Kapila Theertham is a famous Saivite Temple and Theertham, located at Tirupati in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, India. The idol is believed to be installed by Kapila Muni and hence Lord Siva here is referred to as Kapileswara.
The temple stands at the entrance to a mountain cave in one of the steep and vertical faces at the foot of the Tirumala hills which are part of Seshachalam Hills, where the waters of the mountain stream fall directly into Temple Pushkarini known as "Kapila Theertham". A huge stone statue of a seated bull "Nandhi", Shiva's steed, greets devotees and passersby at the entrance to the temple.
4.Kaundinya Wildlife Sanctuary
Kaundinya Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary and an elephant reserve situated in Andhra Pradesh, India.It is the only sanctuary in Andhra Pradesh with a population of Asian elephants, which migrated after 200 years from neighbouring regions.
5.Chandragiri fort
Chandragiri is a town in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the mandal headquarters of Chandragiri mandal in Tirupati revenue division. It also falls in the jurisdictional limit of Tirupati Urban Development Authority.
6.Kailasakona Falls
Kailasanatha Kona or Kailasa kona is a waterfall in Narayanavanam Mandal, Chittor District, Andhra Pradesh in India. A temple of Lord Shiva and Parvathi is seen nearby. This waterfall is having a height of around 40 feet. The specialty of the falls is that, there is water all through the year. There are 3 falls here. Apart from the main falls near the temple of Lord Shiva and Parvathi, there are two smaller falls with a height of approximately 4 to 6 feet, halfway through the main road to the main falls.
7 Vinayaka Temple, Kanipakam
Vinayaka Temple or Sri Varasidhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple is a Hindu temple of Ganesha. It is located at Kanipakam in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India.The temple is about 11 km from Chittoor and 68 km from Tirupati.
8.Gurramkonda
Gurramkonda is a village in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the Mandal headquarters of Gurramkonda Mandal. Gurramkonda Fort is one of the oldest fort in the district Gurramkonda (village) is a village in the Kurramkonda Mandal of the state of Andhra Pradesh, Chittoor District. It is located at a distance of 0 km from the center of the zones, Horamkonda. It is 35 km from the nearest town, Madanapalle. Is also in the distance.

10.Kalyani Dam
The Kalyani Dam is a gravity dam constructed across the Swarnamukhi river at Tirupati city in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, India. This dam is one of the major sources of water supply for Tirupati city and its catchment areas. Once filled completely, the dam can cater the water needs of Tirupati for at least two years.
