Top 10 Rarest Snakes In The World!

Snakes can be terrifying, beautiful and fascinating. It's believed they've have been slithering around the planet for the last ten million years.
That means when dinosaurs were soaring through the skies and shaking the earth beneath their feet, snakes were close by beginning a journey of evolution that would see 3,600 species forming.
Though there are thousands of different types, there are fascinating and elusive varieties that only the lucky few get to witness.
Ranging from smallest snakes on earth to amazing serpents that have unique and unusual abilities, We take at 10 of the world's rarest snakes.

Number 1 - Blue Coral Snake
The Blue Coral Snake, otherwise known as the Blue Malayan Coral, its the same colour as its namesake, except when it comes to its face and tail tip, which is a vibrant red.
It comes from Southeast Asia and can grow 5.9 feet. What makes this reptile so rare, is that they tend to stay away from humans, which is lucky as their deadly venom does not yet have an antivenom.
Its venom attacks its preys sodium channels, firing every nerve at once, which results in full body spasms that lead to paralysis and eventual death. Luckily, there have only been two reported deaths in the last century.
This snake has been dubbed the "killer's killer", as it preys on other venomous snakes such as King Cobras.

Number 2 - Two-Headed Snake
Dicephaly is a strange mutation that affects 1 in 100000 snakes born, so snakes born with this disorder are of course ultra-rare, but there's one dicephalic snake so rare its the only one of its kind.
This snake called medusa is not only double-headed but its also albino, its incredibly amazing and a real spectacle of nature but it has to be given around the clock care to keep her alive.
Se most double-headed serpents don't live for long, half born are dead on arrival, if they survive birth, then one head usually dominates the other and ends up killing it, so making sure medusa stays alive is a hard task.
To feed medusa, the owner has to lower to mice into the cage at the same time for each, so they don't fight over the food. When they've finished eating both heads have to be washed to remove the smell of the mice, so the other head does not mistake the other for food.
Caring for this marvel of nature is no problem for the owner, he said when he saw this reptile, he had to have her, and he paid a whopping 50000 dollars for her.

Number 3 - Spiny Bush Viper
Looking at close-up images of the Spiny Bush Viper, you may think you are looking at a dragon from A Game Of Thrones, as its dorsal scales make it look spiky in appearance.
They are found in central Africa, with no subspecies discovered, making it one of a kind. The males can grow just over two feet, and the females just under two feet.
What makes The Spiny Bush Viper elusive, is its talent of climbing trees, reeds and stalks. They are known to bathe on top of tall bushy growths and flowers.
When it comes to its venom, it was once believed they weren't too toxic at all. But now it has been discovered that it carries neurotoxins, that can vary in effects from person to person.
In extreme cases, it can lead to the haemorrhaging of the internal organs, if not treated with antivenom - obviously a risk you wouldn't want to take if the little danger noodle took a bite.

Number 4 - Barbados Thread Snake
You will be lucky to spot a Barbados Thread Snake, not because of its rarity but because it happens to be the smallest species of snake on the planet. In fact, it is so tiny; it could be mistaken for a worm - with a fully grown Barbados Thread Snake growing to just 10cm.

Number 5 - Ball Python Morphs
Ball Python Morphs are extremely rare. They are like common Ball Pythons but have a vast array of striking colours and patterns.
What makes Ball Python Morphs so unique, is that its different appearances rely solely on a genetic mutation that drastically changes its appearance.
Colours can range from yellow, silver, black or brown, and some morphs are common some ar ultra rare
They are relatively small for an African Python, growing only to six feet in length. They are native to West and Central Africa but are bred in captivity to achieve different types of morphs.
In fact, Ball Pythons are the most commonly bred reptiles in the world. Because of this, sadly they are threatened by hunters obtaining them for the international pet trade.
