Facts about Top 3 cities

1)Facts about Mumbai:

Mumbai is the financial, commercial[34] and entertainment capital of India. It is also one of the world's top ten centres of commerce in terms of global financial flow,[35] generating 6.16% of India's GDP[36] and accounting for 25% of industrial output, 70% of maritime trade in India (Mumbai Port Trustand JNPT),[37] and 70% of capital transactions to India's economy.[38][39] Mumbai's billionaires had the highest average wealth of any city in the world in 2008.[40][41] The city houses important financial institutions and the corporate headquarters of numerous Indian companies and multinational corporations. It is also home to some of India's premier scientific and nuclear institutes. The city also houses India's Hindi (Bollywood) and Marathi cinemaindustries. Mumbai's business opportunities attract migrants from all over India.

2)Facts about Delhi:

During Company Rule in India, the Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah II was reduced to merely a figurehead. The Indian Rebellion of 1857 sought to end company rule and declared Bahadur Shah II the Emperor of India. However, the British soon recaptured Delhi and their other territories, ending the short-lived rebellion. This also marked the beginning of direct British Rule in India. In 1911, the capital of British India was shifted from Calcutta to New Delhi, the last inner city of Delhi designed by Edwin Lutyens

3)Facts about Kolkata:

Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta in English, is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal and is located in eastern India on the east bank of the River Hooghly. The city was a colonial city developed by the British East India Company and then by the British Empire. Kolkata was the capital of the British Indian empire until 1911 when the capital was relocated to Delhi. Kolkata grew rapidly in the 19th century to become the second city of the British Indian Empire. This was accompanied by the development of a culture that fused European philosophies with Indian tradition.
