In certain parts of the United States, the only way you’ll ever be considered a local is if you were born and bred there.
You will always be considered an outsider or transplant for some of the locals unless you were born and raised in the state or city.
In the United States, people switch states by the millions every year, yet some people have a chip on their shoulder and think you shouldn't move to their state for some reason. We get it all the time in the comment section of every video we do about the United States.

Using the most recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2019 American Community Survey, we ranked all 50 states based on the percentage of the total population that was born in that state.
