Global export sales by all countries totaled an estimated US$2.76 billion during 2019 for fresh strawberries, whereas the value of shipments of frozen strawberries amounted to $1.16 billion.
Overall, the value of globally exported fresh strawberries increased in value by 28.2% since 2015 when fresh strawberries exports were valued at $2.15 billion. Shipments of frozen strawberries appreciated by a more aggressive 34.2% over the same 5-year period, up from $861.9 million in 2015.
Renown for its bright red color, juicy texture, sweetness and distinct aroma, a strawberry is a popular fruit eaten raw or consumed in prepared foods and drinks including puddings, jams, pies, ice cream, milkshakes and juices.
For research purposes, the 6-digit Harmonized Tariff System code prefix is 081010 for fresh strawberries. The 6-digit prefix for frozen strawberries is 081110.

By value, the listed 15 countries shipped 95.1% of global fresh strawberries exported in 2019.
Among the top exporters, the fastest-growing fresh strawberries exporters since 2015 were: Japan (up 175.6%), Mexico (up 172%), Greece (up 82.9%) and South Korea (up 59.9%).
Two major suppliers posted declines in their exported fresh strawberries sales, namely France (down -29.5%) and Germany (down -12.2%).
