The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein (“MK-Ultra.” Must read to understand neoliberalism)

Legacy of Ashes by Tim Weiner (“The Bay of Pigs,” “Same Bay, Different Pigs.” Incredibly thorough history of CIA failures, pretty hard to look at them as anything other than a complete joke after reading this)
