TOYOTA TACOMA CAMMED LS SWAP IDLE PROBLEMS DIAGNOSIS

In todays case study we have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with a 6.0 Lq4 engine from a 2001 Cheverolet Silverado 2500 HD. The engine has been highly modified and has an aftermarket performance camshaft installed. The truck is used for off road, baja and rock climbing applications. The customer is complaining of a rough idle and stalling. Follow along as I take you step by step through my troubleshooting and diagnostic process to figure out what is wrong with this vehicle. In this lesson we will go over camshaft design and how lift, duration and lobe separation angle (LSA) affect idle quality. Also we will discuss what to look for when choosing an aftermarket performance camshaft for your application.
