Over in the UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson delivered a speech after securing a landslide win in Thursday's general election...
Thanking supporters, he pointed out the result gave the government a powerful mandate to get Brexit done -- to unite the country and focus on the priorities of the British people.
And I, of course, want to congratulate absolutely everybody involved in securing the biggest Conservative majority since the 1980s. This election means that getting Brexit done is now the irrefutable, irresistible, unarguable decision of the British people. And, with this election, I think we put an end to all those miserable threats of a second referendum.
The new parliament is expected to approve Johnson's Brexit plan before Christmas, which would see the UK leaving the EU on January 31st.
