**Note: I recorded the final guitar fill after Dave's vocals, but I didn't film it.

Happy New Years guys!!! Wow...the 2010's just flew by. I still remember the 5th grade lol. I am super excited to see what this brand new decade holds, and I can't wait for future projects to come to this channel soon :).

Here's the solo and ending to "Ice Cream Man" by Van Halen. I think Van Halen I could be considered as a candidate for the Top 10 Best Albums Ever list for me, and part of that is because of this song. The rhythms on this album are solid (I prefer the rhythms a little more on Van Halen II), but the solos are really magical -- not crazy with all the tapping stuff. I do not have anything against tapping though.

Also, I got this Brown Sound using Amplitube 4 Custom Shop (free version of Amplitube 4). With the free version, the only available heavy amp is the Marshall JCM 800 (British Tube Lead as they call it), but that's what Eddie used so it makes sense. Amplitube is phenomenal. Here is my signal chain for this sound. I'll probably post a tutorial on the specifics of each component of the chain. Note that (A) is for a component in the Amplitube software.

TSE 808 Overdrive - Compressor (A) - British 800 Tube Lead w/ stock Impulse (A) - EQ (A) - (optional) to cut some frequencies like the sharp screechy sounds, you can add some post EQs. You can also add a gate to the beginning (from your DAW) of the chain to remove the hissing feedback that comes from the overdrive-Marshall combination.

Anyway, I'll probably end up doing one more cover or so before I have to leave for several months again. Thanks for all the support from you all :D.
