VIETNAM TRIP FEBRUARY 2020 - From Hanoi to Hoi An - Travel Tips

DAY 1: Hanoi - In this city it is enough to stay just for one night. We went to the city center and the main point of Ho Chi Minh was Mausoleum and Tran Quoc Pagoda. After the long way of traveling by plane we had perfect and CHEAP massage in VAN XUAN foot massage (150K VND/1hour). The accommodation we had in Hanoi Royal Palace 2 - maybe you can find something cheaper, but we were happy to have a comfort for the first day.

DAY 2-3: CAT BA - HA LONG BAY - We stayed in this paradise 2 days. First day, we rented motorbikes (everywhere from 80-100 thousand max!). We visited Hospital Cave, Trung Tran Cave and Cat Ba National park with epic view. Next day we were on a cruise ship around Ha Long Bay. The price for 1 day cruise is 400K VND (with a nice lunch). Trip by CAT BA ECO TOURIST was cheap and good enough. Cat Ba Sunrise hotel, where we stayed, was tidy, nice and in the center of the town.

DAY 4-6: NINH BINH - We were lucky here because we had a perfect accommodation named HA LAN HOMESTAY with Mrs. Yen, who helped us with our program... simply with everything! :-) First day we visited Hang Mua. 2nd day we had epic cruise in Trang An and then we saw Bai Dinh pagoda. 3rd day: Hoa Lu, Bich Dong temples and Thung Nham birdpark. Then we traveled by night bus to Phong Nha. (funny experience -if you drink a lot of rice wine you will maybe fall a sleep..)

DAY 7: Phong Nha - In this city we saw big Paradise Cave and Botanic Garden with gorgeous waterfall and jungle sightseeing. Just be careful here about the local people. F.e. there is petrol station next to the town, but they trying to sell you a petrol 3x more expensive ect., We were accommodated in cheap SCARLET HOTEL PHONG NHA.

DAY 8-9: HUE - The best city with nightlife - taverns and clubs are full of people and the city center has nice atmosphere. What could you see around? I was excited about the ROYAL CITY and tombs.. Entry ticket was quite expensive (420K VND for 3 tombs) so the rest of our group went to eat local food instead of visiting this place- Bum bo Hue was unforgettable!! :-)
Next day we went to Abandoned Water Park. Here we had funny adventure, because security guy said that nobody is allowed to go inside this day... we were trying other routes trough the jungle to get in, but anyway, after 1 hour he said: "ok, go but just for 10 minutes" We gave him a little bribe for this favor and we stayed there for 1 hour. In Hue we had perfect accommodation as well and for a good price! Ruby hotel was perfect place to stay with a full service, welcome drinks, really nice snacks and breakfast (included) and staff was always kind, always prepared!! (HONG THIEN RUBY HOTEL)

DAY 10-11: HOI AN - We rented a one way ride by Motorvina to get to Hoi An trough Hai Van Pass, we were lucky and we had a beautiful views. Hoi An is breathtaking town, especially at night. Night market is full of lanterns and has beautiful spirit. I bought there whole tailored suit and also some shirts just for 3 thousand crowns and it was done in just one DAY :-). Also Hoi An is the best place where to buy some gifts. Accommodation here was the cheapest one, and quite good even with a breakfast for 120K VND/night ( COCO VILLAGE HOMESTAY HOI AN)

DAY 12-16: DANANG - At the end of our trip we wanted some chill, so we spent last 4 days on Danang beaches. Good tip where to go for a small trip is Lady Budha statue and you can go for a lunch to Hoas place Guesthouse. There is an epic food and friendly local owner - "take it easy my friend". 3rd day we went to Ba Na Hills. Entry cost 700K VND, but the price included cable car, famous Golden Bridge and also French village with theme park. There we had a nice time and we tried nearly all attractions. Definitely go there in the morning to avoid long queues... Because we were group of 6 so we rented an apartment here (DA NANG DAISY APARTMENT 1) with epic view from skyscraper right on the beach! :-)

3 Best meals: 1 - Bún Bò Huế (next to the Royal Empire in Hue)
2 - Cao lầu and Bahn Mi (The Banh Mi Queen, center of Hoi An)
3 - Spring rolls (Hoa's place Danang)

Budget: You can make this trip for 450€ (without fly ticket)
