Why Parents Should Play Video Games With Their Kids

Many parents think of video games as either a total waste of time, or an activity for their kids to pursue on their own. But Dr. Sinem Siyahhan encourages parents to play video games with their kids. An associate professor at California State University specializing in education technology and learning sciences, the educator says it’s a great way to bond. Alienware recently provided Dr. Siyahhan with gaming laptops for her Play2Connect project. She set them up in a classroom and invited families to play Minecraft. Not all of the parents were up to speed on the game, but that wasn’t a problem. Their kids were happy to teach them.
