Technology is increasing at a rapid rate and along with it is also increasing misconception about it. So today we are going to know about such things that you may have heard but are wrong. In this episode of get2know.
1. The more megapixels your camera has, the better the picture
Higher pixels actually mean higher resolution of a photograph, but it doesnot always mean better picture. It also requires other features like sensor . that’s why a 8 megapixel DSLR camera can get better picture than 20 megapixels phone camera.
2.More bars on your mobile phone mean better service
The bars indicate signal strength, not the quality of available service. If many people in the same area are calling, texting, going online or gaming, service may be intermittent, slow or even unavailable. To know the quality you must look at the decibel range of the phone.
If you want to know about decibel range then do comment we will make a video about it.
3.Apple computers are immune to viruses.
Unlike popular beliefs, Apple computers are potentially just as vulnerable to viruses and other malware as is a PC. The reason for apple computers being less affected by viruses is that malware can reach more targets if it’s designed for the most common system, and PCs far outnumber Macs.
4. The QWERTY keyboard is the most efficient way to type
QWERTY is surely the most used type of keyboard but it is said not to be the most efficient. The most efficient one is said to be DVORAK keyboard which keeps vowels together along the center row and reduces finger movement.
5. Lemons can be used to charge your phone
Apparently, someone somewhere cut the charger cable for their phone and plugged in into a lemon to see what would happen. , and, voila, the phone was charged. The problem is that this method just doesn’t work. The wires immersed in lemon juice might produce only a small fraction of a volt, not nearly enough to charge a phone. Try it at home if you don’t believe me and if you don’t mind ruining a charger cable.
6. Cell phones cause cancer
addicted cell phone users have tripped on sidewalks, walked into walls, collided with fellow cell phone users and even caused fatal car crashes. Other cell phone-related afflictions include poor attention span, eye strain, forgetting to feed the kids, neglecting your spouse, and addiction to cat videos. But none of the study have shown that it causes cancer.
7. you shouldnot recharge batteries until they are almost dead
Once upon a time, the common wisdom was that batteries lose their ability to retain an electrical charge if they are recharged before they are drained down to zero. This applied to nickel-cadmium batteries, but it doesn't apply to today’s lithium-ion batteries. It's actually best to keep your device between 40-80% charged, and that means not letting it drain to 0%..
8. Jailbreaking your Phone, iPod or tablet is illegal
“Jailbreaking” your phone is when you remove the hardware restrictions imposed by its operating system to make it compatible with software and downloads from other brands. It may sound illegal, given the term “jailbreaking,” but it’s perfectly legal. Jailbreaking may, however, void your warranty.
9. Facebook uses your phone's microphone to listen in on private conversations.
a persistent myth that's floated around for years is the idea that Facebook eavesdrops on personal conversations and then later serves ads based on what you say. This simply is not
true just because of two reason
a. To keep track of what one is talking about is quiet a humongous task.
b. It is economically non feasible. Facebook have such a huge data about us that even if it spy over us through microphone the amount of new data it receive is not justifiable for the cost it have to spend on it.
10. AI will steal your job
“Although AI is likely to make certain jobs obsolete, it is primed to create just as many, if not more jobs. While the loss of certain types of jobs seems scary, it’s important to remember that there have always been certain roles that fall to the wayside with the rise of a new technology. With the steam engine, with the assembly line, with the Internet, many jobs became unnecessary. But these technologies brought with them economic growth and opportunities for new jobs, and people adapted. AI may be able to automate certain roles, but it will not leave the masses unemployed. There will certainly be roles in data gathering, processing, and oversight at a minimum. Not to mention jobs related to all the new technologies that will be created as a result.
