Wooden Chess Piece Box | Ebony, Boxwood, & Walnut

In this video I make a box for chess pieces that I made from ebony and boxwood. To match the chess pieces, this box is made from ebony and boxwood for the two ends and walnut for the remaining two sides and top and bottom.

Inside the box, I made wooden inserts to hold the chess pieces. The inserts are made from maple (for the boxwood pieces) and walnut (for the ebony pieces). The inserts are attached to the sides of the box using spring loaded pin hinges to allow the inserts to tilt backwards.

The holes that I drilled into the inserts to hold each chess piece are flocked to make it comfortable for the pieces while they rest in the box.
