Yamaha EAD10 Small Bar Stage
Description
I've seen surprisingly little "field" content of the Yamaha EAD10, so I wanted to upload some videos with my results. I looked for this type of content before pulling the trigger and purchasing, but could only find 2 videos that demonstrated a live band environment. This was a smaller venue than I'm used to playing, so I'm glad I got to use it as my first capture.
The audio is taken directly, unedited, from the Yamaha EAD10. The Master knob was at 50% and I didn't monitor before begging the recording, which is why the kick drum peaks from time to time. The EAD10 is placed in its recommended default location (top of the batter-side kick drum hoop).
The EAD10 is a great way to capture your drum audio from performances. All you've got to do is clamp the thing on, plug in the brain, get a reasonable Master level, and hit record. I keep a USB thumb drive plugged in the back in case recordings go longer than the onboard storage allows (which isn't much, and the limit for USB drive recordings is now 90 min. with the 2.0 firmware update).
Anyway, for the drum geeks out there cur ious what you're hearing:
Spaun Drums Custom Series (6-ply Maple, Double 45 edges)
- 10"x20" Kick
- 8"x12" Rack Tom
- 14"x14" Floor Tom
- 6.5"x14" Spaun Nickel over Brass Snare
• 14" Istanbul Mehmet Legend HHs
• 16" Istanbul Mehmet Traditional Dark Crash
• 18" Istanbul Mehmet Traditional Crash
• 21" Istanbul Mehmet 61st Anniversary Ride
Thanks for watching, and keep an eye out for more example recordings with the Yamaha EAD10.
