This article will focus on a young man named James who started care in our office 5 weeks ago. Most people think young kids can't have chronic health problems. This is absolutely not the case. In fact the author of this article, DR. Hall had severe chronic health problems from 17 years old to 19 and 1/2 following a head injury. Trauma can occur at any age and lead to spinal misalignment in the neck and subsequent central nervous system interference. Headaches, migraines, vestibular migraines, and cluster headaches can afflict people of all races and almost all ages. Pain can limit the enjoyment of life and in many people's cases can shut life down altogether. Our hope is that this video and information will get into the hands of those that are seeking natural healing. Pharmaceutical symptom treatment has its place but fixing the cause is better!
James's Upper Cervical Recovery Story
James is a 16-year-old boy who sought care in our office for severe constant headaches that made him miss half of his school days over a 6 week period(his story is attached in video format in this blog). Nothing he tried seemed to help until he received a specific atlas correction. Each case that undergoes upper cervical care is different. In James's case, he was a quick fix. By the following morning after his correction, he was headache free and has remained so for the past 5 weeks. Jame 's story illustrates the importance of how spinal misalignment at the skull neck juncture can literally destroy a person's life. Neck trauma in a person's past can cause future health problems. Because the upper cervical spine houses the brainstem, it is of utmost importance that it be aligned and not be interfering with the nervous system's normal function. The upper neck is the most complex biomechanical area of the spine, contains many muscles, ligaments, and soft tissue that sit in an unstable region. The head weighs 10-12 pounds and rests on the top vertebrae in the neck weighing two ounces. As a result, minor acceleration-deceleration injuries such as car accidents, sports injuries, and falls can set in motion a cascade of neurological consequences leading to an array of health problems. In James's case, his constant headaches made him unable to attend a school or enjoy life. At 16 you should not be in bed missing school. Fortunately, James stumbled into our office and the cause of his health condition, an atlas misalignment, was corrected and he is moving on with life!
What Exactly Does a Blair Upper Cervical Doctor Do?
Blair Upper Cervical doctors are specially trained to locate spinal misalignments in the upper cervical spine and correct them. Spinal misalignment is located by running a battery of neurological tests that locate the spinal segments that have been injured and misaligned by a prior neck Injury.
Once located, precision imaging in the form of digital x-ray or cone beam computed tomography (Cbct) are used to precisely determine which joint has misaligned and the angulation of the misaligned joint.
Each person’s anatomy is different and therefore imaging is used to uncover the blueprint to be used to correct each patient’s individual misalignment pattern.Once this information is gleaned, a gentle, light correction is made without twisting, popping, or pulling.
The patient is then monitored over time to ensure that the correction is holding. If the testing indicates the need for another correction, then it is performed.
However, the goal of Blair Upper Cervical Care is for the patient to stay in “adjustment”.It isn’t the correction that produces healing. It is the removal of nerve irritation and the adjustment “holding” in its normal position that allows the body to function better and proceed through a healing process. This is how Blair Chiropractic care for headache can aid your body in healing itself.
If you are suffering from any type of headache or any other chronic degenerative disease give upper cervical care a chance. You will be glad you did. In conclusion, we will steal a quote from the enveloped of chiropractic, " nature needs no help just no interference."
