Previously, Link completed the Shai Utoh Shrine near the Lakeside Stable in the Faron region and the Kuh Takkar Shrine in the Gerudo Highlands. He did some more Snowball Bowling to earn rupees and picked up the Ancient Cuirass at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. Finally, he reached the Mo'a Keet Shrine and the Foothill Stable in the southeast of the Eldin region. Now, he will explore the Mo'a Keet Shrine and then climb Death Mountain to Goron City, the starting point for the main quest "Divine Beast Vah Rudania".
Link resumes at the Foothill Stable.
He heads up to the Mo'a Keet Shrine overlooking the stable (time 1:10). He enters the shrine. Mo'a Keet issues the trial Metal Makes a Path. Look out for boulders rolling down ramps.
To the right, Link can find cracked blocks in the ceiling (time 2:04). He blasts them with a Bomb Arrow. This reveals a metal chest containing a Ruby.
At the first ramp, he freezes the rolling ball with Stasis so he can dash up safely. At the landing, he turns right. He uses Magnesis to grab and halt the metal ball that is rolling down.
Up the metal ball's ramp, he finds a chest containing a Knight's Broadsword (time 3:00). He takes it and re-photographs it for the Hyrule Compendium, but he does not keep it.
Then, he uses Magnesis to take the metal ball again. He uses it to force his way past the balls rolling down the ramp to the left. At the top, he reaches the altar.
Link examines Mo'a Keet's altar (time 4:57). He earns Spirit Orb #050. He currently has 2 Spirit Orbs on hand.
Outside, Link teleports to the Ne'ez Yohma Shrine in Zora's Domain (time 6:00). At the general store, he picks up more Arrows. Ice Arrows will also be useful against the enemies in Death Mountain.
Link teleports back to the Mo'a Keet Shrine near the Foothill Stable (time 6:58). From the Foothill stable, he begins following the road northwest.
He soon reaches Death Mountain Marker #1 (time 8:20). At about this point, he encounters Kairo, a traveling Goron merchant. Be sure to heed Kairo's warning about bringing flame protection. Kairo sells various gemstones.
Just past the sign, Link enters the Maw of Death Mountain (time 9:13). This part is not too bad, and the hot springs can heal Link if he suffers damage.
Link photographs a Hotfeather Pigeon for the compendium. He also manages to photograph a Golden Sparrow. It is pretty difficult to photograph little birds.
Link photographs his first new enemy, a Red Chuchu. When they are covered in flame, they will explode when struck, so it is best to shoot them from a distance. After they lunge, though, their flame will die down for a moment, and then it will be safe to hit them up close.
Link also photographs a Fireproof Lizard. He will want to collect these. They are ingredients in heat-resistant elixirs.
Along the path, Link can encounter a Guardian Stalker (time 14:21). Their mobility makes them dangerous. An Ancient Arrow to the eye will take them out. They drop numerous Ancient materials when defeated.
Along the path, Link finds a tunnel. There are Fire Keese, which he photographs and takes out. Link also finds Luminous Stone Deposits. In the next tunnel, there are more Fire Keese and Red Chuchus. There are also a couple of bombable walls. One hides a rare ore deposit. Another hides Red Chuchus and more ore deposits.
Link drops some Wood and makes a bonfire so he can rest until morning.
After climbing the path past the tunnel, Link reaches Death Mountain Marker #2 (time 24:11). After climbing the next ridge, Link will enter burning air. To keep from going up in flames, he uses a Fireproof Elixir that he bought at the Foothill Stable. Note that if he has any wooden melee weapons, shields, or bows, equipped, they will burn. He should unequip them and use metal gear.
Link meets another Guardian Stalker as he climbs the path (time 26:04). Again, it is pretty easy with an Ancient Arrow to the eye.
Near the tower, Link finds a Fire-Breath Lizalfos guarding the path. An Ice Arrow will chill it out nicely.
The Lizalfos's metal chest contains 5 Shock Arrows (time 28:47).
In this area, Link finds the Eldin Tower (time 29:50). Aside from the area's heat, this is an easy tower to climb.
On the observation platform, Link uses the guidance stone (time 30:54). The Eldin Tower and its travel gate activate. The map of the Eldin region is downloaded to the Sheikah Slate. Link now has he full map of Hyrule!
