What are the most important foods for a growing child? A growing child requires a good nutrition, in the sense a good calorie nutrition. Because they are burning a lot of calories, their metabolism is high and their growth spurt is happening at regular intervals. So egg is something which is very essential and egg is a complete food. It has got carbohydrates, proteins, fats, that is number 1. Number 2 yoghurt is very good for your child because yoghurt serves as source of calcium, probotics. It is a natural probiotic. Number 3, vegetables goes without saying we are all aware of the importance of vegetables. It has got minerals antioxidants, vitamins, and breakfast cereal is a very good source of carbohydrate and energy booster. Peanut butter is excellent in polyunsaturated fatty acids. They are good fats which are essential for your child’s growth and if you are a non vegetarian, fish, especially tuna is a very good source of protein. Sunflower seed is a very good source of polyunsaturated fatty acids and fruits especially apples and bananas, they are rich in minerals, antioxidants. Banana is a good source of potassium and carbohydrate. Besides this there are healthy nutritious foods that we recommend for our children and we strongly recommend to abstain from junk food every child will have some addiction.
