10 abandoned millionaires' cars
There are people who don’t have a lot of disposable income. Then there are others, the ones on this list
in particular, who took the term disposable income quite literally. Let’s face it, you need to have a lot of
money to afford any of the cars on this list, especially number one so stay tuned for that, and to
abandon them just like that? It’s quite literally throwing money away. Anyways, let’s see how rich
people waste money as we take a look at 10 abandoned millionaires’ cars.
Number 10. $450,000 Rolls Royce Phantom

This isn’t just your ordinary Rolls Royce Phantom. As it turns out, it’s a special edition equipped with a
Centurion body kit. What it’s doing abandoned on the side of railway tracks in suburban Russia like
some abandoned kid’s toy is anybody’s guess, but this is such an expensive waste, a $450,000 waste to
be exact.
According to some stories, the car was originally owned by some hotshot celebrity in Las Vegas before it
was sold off to a rich Russian. How and why it got to its current location, covered by snow and flanked
by chopped firewood is still quite the mystery though.
Anyway, a Rolls-Royce doesn't deserve this kind of embarrassment. The company could've spared it
from such fate and rebought it again just to keep the ‘Rolls-Royce’ status optimum. Maybe even the
company could've been shocked to know the whereabouts of such a car. By now, it's unrecognizable,
and it just looks pitiful. Nobody has even gotten near it even for a spare part due to its ‘homeless’
condition.
Number 9. $490,000 Lamborghini Miura
Just the name itself triggers a sad feeling. An abandoned Lamborghini sounds like a joke, but this is more
than serious. Apparently, this Lamborghini belonged to a very famous superstar who was called ‘Greek
Elvis,’ and it was presented to him as a gift. Well, Aristotle Onassis, who was one of the richest men in
the world, was deeply fascinated by the pop star’s work, and he awarded him with this Lamborghini.
Surely, a gift such as this doesn't deserve to be preserved in this way. So, this car was driven time and
again, and when the mileage got to around 52,118, it had some mechanical problems. The engine had
some issues, and the best alternative that ‘Greek Elvis’ took was to leave it in the parking lot of a hotel. 3
decades passed without anyone noticing the Lamborghini Miura rotting in the parking lot, and after it
was moved to another storage facility, the Lamborghini got lucky since it was about to be put out of its
misery.
In 2012, 30 years from when it was abandoned, the Lamborghini Miura was placed for bidding in an
auctioning event. Luckily, it was sold at a good price
Number 8. $500,000 Jaguar XJ220
There’s something extremely depressing about finding an abandoned car out on the streets collecting
dirt and dust with no hope of a carwash or even a wipe down with a damp cloth in its foreseeable
future. But what makes this more depressing is that the car you’re looking at is one of the rarest one
you’ll find on the planet: the Jaguar XJ-220. Only 275 of these supercars were ever made, making it one
of the rarest cars in the world.
Born out of a dream that came to then Jaguar chief designer, Jim Randle, the XJ-220 became one of
Jaguar’s most unexpectedly successful models in its proud and rich history. Such high esteem held for
the XJ-220 should be enough for an owner to take utmost care of it.
If the car’s designer could've seen it in this abandoned, dirty, wrecked, and sad state, maybe he could've
opened a case on the owner of the car. A nice piece of work such as this car should be taken in and
treated with respect. However, the opposite of what's expected befell this Jaguar. Although the owner
might've thought of it as ‘worthless,’ it would've been nice to keep it elsewhere.
Number 7. $1.045 Million 1967 Shelby Cobra 427
Sometimes, for whatever reason, people abandon cars others can only dream of owning in the first
place. That was the case with this 1967 Shelby Cobra 427, left to become nothing more than housing for
nearby mice after the only mechanic the owner trusted to work on it died. It has been abandoned since
1991.
