Part of the unbelievable success of the Dragon Ball franchise over the last thirty years because of the unbelievably awesome protagonist Goku. We’ve seen him go from a naive little kid searching for the mysterious Dragon Balls to a still pretty naive adult who has reached and surpassed the powers of godhood.

While we’ve seen him do some amazing things like overcoming Frieza by becoming a Super Saiyan and making the Snake Way run, we’ve also seen him do some pretty questionable things. Since day one, it’s been obvious that Goku is not exactly the brightest bulb in the package.

It would’ve been understandable if he was just a little dense as a kid but he’s arguably gotten less intelligent as the franchise has rolled on.

Some of these mistakes have just shown how compassionate Goku is. He’s a very kind person and unfortunately that is a very easy thing for villains to manipulate. Other times, he has let his obsession with battles and tournaments outweigh his better judgement.

Then there are the times when he makes questionable choices that could’ve potentially cost trillions of lives. When the entire multiverse is at stake, perhaps you need a hero who has a little more brain power than Goku does.

We still love him despite his flaws, but the guy doesn’t always take his job as Earth’s greatest defender seriously. Not only that but he’s not been the best father either.
