What’s the most expensive house in the world? Or rather, who owns these expensive houses? If you’re just as curious as I am, stick around to find out. Could you believe there’s someone famous YOU KNOW living in a 1 BILLION DOLLAR house in this list??? For spoilers, don’t expect houses under the 100 million dollar mark. So everything here is about luxury! After all, is there any better version of escapist fun than indulging your Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous fantasy? From Penthouses in Monaco to Palaces in France, here are 10 Most expensive houses in the world!
10. Odeon Tower Penthouse, Monaco
Claiming the title as the world’s most expensive apartment, this penthouse atop the Odeon Tower in Monaco deserves it due to its heavy price tag! The penthouse has 35,500 square feet of interior space developed by the Groupe Marzocco and designed by architect Alexandre Giraldi. It spans five floors and comes with its own private elevator. The master bedroom is such a marvel that it’s speculated to be the size of two and a half tennis courts. I’m not trying to exaggerate things, this is all true!!! Not that I’ve been inside it, several news sources confirm this!

The private luxury doesn't stop there, perhaps its most distinctive feature is a water slide coming from an upper floor into its open-air infinity pool with 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape!! What does it cost for this pretty spectacular piece of luxury? Well, about 400 MILLION DOLLARS!!!
9. Middle Gap Road home, Hong Kong

This house has had its own fair share of history and somewhat bad luck especially on getting it a new owner. Despite it being run down and dingy, the owner has refused to lower the seemingly-astronomical $447 million asking price! Yes, despite its terrible condition, this four-bedroom fixer-upper on a third of an acre in Hong Kong sits on arguably the priciest piece of real estate on the planet, the gated Middle Gap Road community that’s part of Hong Kong Island’s The Peak neighborhood!


In most other posh parts of the world, this unassuming, colonial-style 5,700-square-foot, four-bedroom home built in 1991 wouldn’t get a second glance. But because it’s perched atop the Peak, comes with views of Deep Water Bay and is just a 10-minute drive from Hong Kong’s Central Business District, it is no wonder the 447 million dollars sounds like a fair bargain. Not to mention, properties around the area have been known to sell for as much as 657 million dollars! For a wise and of course extremely rich buyer, the idea would be to have the house torn down and build a shiny new mega-mansion on this third-of-an-acre wooded lot.
The Witanhurst in London is also infamously known as the house of secrets. It’s also London’s largest private house and was built between 1913 and 1920 on an eleven-acre plot in Highgate, a wealthy hilltop neighborhood north of the city center. Although renovated, the original house had 25 bedrooms, a seventy-foot-long ballroom, and a glass rotunda. The views from its gardens, over Hampstead Heath and across the capital, were among the loveliest in London! Its interior space is expected to total some 90,000 square feet, bringing its value to an estimated $450 million! This makes it the second most valuable mansion in London, surpassed only by Buckingham Palace!

Just who its owners are has been something of a mystery. Rumors had it that the owner was Vladimir Putin but it turns out the buyer is Andrey Guryev, Russia’s 28th richest man, with a fortune of £2.6 billion, building a UK refuge for his family. New owners have since added a second three-story villa and dug out some 40,000 square feet of basement that is fit to be called an underground village.
