10 Strangest Things Washed Ashore
Nothing is more relaxing than a walk on the beach, until one of these 10 catch you by surprise, filling you
with bewilderment, or worse, terror. Especially number one which will be one of the creepiest things
you’ll ever see in your life. Find out what it is by staying tuned as we give you 10 of the strangest things
washed on shores.

Number 10. Massive Tires
Now, here’s something that you don’t see every day. Seven massive tires, each around 10 feet in
diameter, turned up on the banks on a rocky beach south of the Campbell River in Vancouver Canada.
These tires, which you can normally see strapped on to massive vehicles usually seen in construction
sites, just turned up washed on to the beach without any indication of where they came from.
The funny thing is that since the tires are so big, it actually requires government intervention for their
removal. In an email sent to various media outlets, the Ministry of Environment said they are gravely
concerned about the presence of the tires on the beach, and are actively working with other agencies to
find a solution for their removal. Hey, Ministry of Environment guys; here’s a solution for you; a couple
of really big trucks, exactly like the ones who use those kinds of tires. You are welcome.
Anyways, since the tires were washed up along with some degraded foam between each tire, it’s
suggested that they came from an old dock.

Number 9. A Skull with No Eye Sockets
A mysterious skull which appears to have no eye sockets has washed up on a beach in Lincolnshire
sparking debate as to what kind of animal it might have belonged to. The skull, which was discovered at
the Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve, was found by a woman who was walking her dog and
picking beach trash, which is nice of her. She said when she made the grisly discovery, she couldn’t
believe her eyes. To her, it looked similar to a seal’s skull, as she’s seen a lot of those while cleaning up
the beach, but something about this eyeless skull really seemed strange.
A veterinarian suggested that it could be some sort of malformed mutant dog born with no eyes. The
plot thickened as the vet said the reddening of the skull could be due to hemorrhage which would
suggest evidence of a head trauma, which suggested that someone didn’t want this creature alive.
However, the mystery was finally solved when Natural History Museum conducted tests and
conclusively said that the skull definitely belonged to a seal, with some parts of it broken in a way that
the eye sockets aren’t clearly recognizable.

Number 8. Packs of Cigarettes
Hey smokers, do yourself a favor and please consider quitting. You’re not only doing something for your
overall health and well-being, you’ll be doing Mother Earth a huge favor as well. Do you know how many

cigarette butts get washed up on beaches every single day? Millions. And even more of them are
floating around at sea.
But in this story, we’re not merely talking about cigarette butts, oh no, we’re talking about packs of
them, thousands of unopened packs containing an estimated 11 million cigarettes. They were washed
up on a two-mile stretch of Dorset Beach back in 2014, after a particularly horrific storm caused a cargo
of these things to fall of a ship. Police tightly guarded the are to ensure no one was tempted to pick a
few packs up.
Fortunately, the packs were so damaged and were deemed unusable and was quickly cleaned up.

Number 7. A Dragon Skull
Charmouth beach, along England's Jurassic Coast, has been the site of many fascinating dinosaur-fossil
discoveries over the years. So stumbling across some prehistoric bones wouldn't be that out of the
ordinary, right? But then, you stumble across a 40-foot dragon skull, then it’s a whole different story.
This giant dragon skull was found by astonished beach goers in Charmouth back in 2013. It looked like
the thing just simply washed ashore, but as always, there’s more to it than meets the eye.
The realistic-looking skull was actually a clever marketing stunt by Blinkbox, a United Kingdom-based
video-on-demand company trumpeting the arrival of Game of Thrones' scintillating third season to its
service.
This marketing stunt, although quite jarring at first, proved to be very effective, as Game of Thrones
came to be one of the most popular TV shows to have ever existed. Just a quick note to Blinkbox, next
time, please tell people in advance if you’re going to pull something like this again. If I were the first one
to see that monstrous thing, I would have had a heart attack.
