On the men’s side, Air Force won its third MW championship in program history after five Falcons finished in the top 10, earning 29 points and just four points ahead of the Utah State, who came in second.
The Aggies placed three runners in the top five, including Caleb Garnica, the first runner to cross the finish after sprinting past Air Force’s Sam Gilman in the last five yards of the race. Garnica’s time is the fourth-fastest time in Mountain West Championship history.
Just under a second behind Garnica, Falcon sophomore Sam Gilman placed second with a time of 23:39.2. Utah State claimed third and fourth place after Camren Todd and Haydon Cooper finished with times of 23:41.0 and 23:48.5, respectively.
