1. Create Your Own Zone
Create your own safe relaxing and calm zone find an area of your home or a room that you can create a Small relaxation spot that you can go on retreat to you if things are getting too much over the festive period.
2. Remember Ear Defenders
Remember to bring a defenders to any eating engagement party social gathering or anything like that. These noise cancelling headphones or a defenders will help to save you the stress and anxiety of sensory overload from the noise of the festive period.
3. Make Food Requirements Prior
Prepare food requirements and make everybody aware well ahead of any events or engagements that you may have coming up in the holiday period so that you can join in with ease.
4. Plan Your Day
In November start planning out your Christmas week so you know how your days are going to be over the Christmas period make sure to know a schedule of what you’re going to do on Christmas Day Christmas Eve and Boxing Day to make sure you don’t get overwhelmed.
5. Don’t Take on Too Much
Don’t take on too much over the Christmas period it’s easy to get wrapped into the saying yes to this party that event this gathering that dinner but remember you have to take care of your mental health and you know your limits so know your limits and don’t take on too many events.
