Catching Largemouth Bass with Spoons Year Round

This bass fishing video shows how an old school bait, a casting spoon, is still effective at catching largemouth bass in 2020.

Steve Kline and I went out on a Midwest lake December 27 to do some bass fishing. We were determined, but after 4 hours of fishing with traditional cold-water largemouth bass lures (blade baits, alabama rigs, ned rigs, and jigs), we had little success. I made a phone call to Terry Schoettmer and met him on a different lake. This is when he showed us the effectiveness of the spoon.

We caught nearly 20 largemouth bass in just 2 hours in water less than 3 feet deep. The water temperature was also just 40 degrees.
