Description
Top news with NDTV’s Sonal Mehrotra Kapoor | Citizenship Amendment Act: Since the law was signed into effect by President Ram Nath Kovind last week, protests, often ending in clashes with the police, have swept the country. The police in more than 10 cities have not given permission to organise protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. Permission for any rally was withheld in Delhi, with gathering of four or more people banned near the Red Fort in central Delhi and other areas in the national capital. Much of the protest against the amended citizenship law has taken place in the north-east, West Bengal and Delhi.
